With keynote speaker, John Ikerd, Professor Emeritus of Agricultural Economics, University of Missouri Columbia. John Ikerd was raised on a small dairy farm in southwest Missouri and received his BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Missouri. He worked in private industry for a time and spent thirty years in various professorial positions at four different state universities before retiring in early 2000. Since retiring, he spends most of his time writing and speaking on issues related to sustainability. He is the author of five published books and two free on-line books which can be located through his personal website atwww.johnikerd.com.

Katherine Bishop
Katherine Bishop is a Nutrition Policy Associate at the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), one of the country's leading health advocacy organizations specializing in food, nutrition, and obesity prevention. Ms. Bishop received her BA in political science from the University of Rhode Island, and her MS in nutrition and MPH in public health from Tufts University.
At CSPI, Ms. Bishop works on healthier food choices for public places and previously focused on school food issues. Prior to working at CSPI, she spent four years in the Massachusetts Legislature, as Legislative Aide and Legislative Director to a State Representative. During graduate school Ms. Bishop worked with the Massachusetts Public Health Association and the Nutrition Policy Department at the World Health Organization.
