The Community Food Network (CFN) is a planning group designed to support community gardens and food distribution resources. Representatives from several local organizations host planning committee meetings to assist with garden coordination, distribution needs, resource development, marketing, volunteer recruitment, and educational planning. This group is open to anyone who is interested in helping.
Volunteers from local service groups help out each garden including MSU-E Master Gardeners, school groups, and youth service groups.
Helping to feed low income families in need!
Fresh fruits and vegetables grown in local community gardens are distributed to families in need through local food pantries, soup kitchens, and other distribution resources.

- Volunteers working within the CFN providing assistance to community gardens have donated over 500 volunteer hours annually!
- Over 19,000 pounds of fresh produce has been distributed each year for 5 years in a row!
- The CFN was started in 2009 with 3 gardens and has since grown to include 16 gardens serving 36 pantries!
- CFN Partners are encouraged to participate in National Day of Service Projects which contributed over 2075 Volunteer Hours in 2012 in Montcalm & Ionia Counties!
